Russel Dale Oestreicher

Russel Dale Oestreicher, 68, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:43 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his residence.

Russel had been a farmer. He was of the Christian faith and a U.S. Army veteran. Russel was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved going fishing at Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee.

He was born June 5, 1945 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Russel Roy and Margie Orlene (Peters) Oestreicher.

He is survived by one brother - Darrel L. Oestreicher and fianee Carolyn Ridgeway of Mulkeytown, Ill., one sister - Beth Sizemore and Michael Alvis of Pinckneyville, Ill., nieces and nephews - Paula Becksheets and Tish Becksheets of Herrin, Ill., Brian Cornett and Rachael of Phoenix, Ariz., Kevin Oestreicher and Dawn of Elkville, Ill., Kerry Oestreicher and Natasha of Hallidayboro, Ill., Tracy Haney and Shawn of Du Quoin, Ill. and Lennet Jo Clover and Eric Gibbs of Springfield, Mo., several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister - Lennet Jo Oestreicher.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.

Friends may make memorials to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
