Daniel E. Woodside

Daniel E. Woodside, age 63, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 in Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Daniel was born on Oct. 28, 1950 in Du Quoin, Ill., a son to Elmer and Amelia (Setzekorn) Woodside. He was of the Catholic faith and worked for Walgreens in maintenance. Daniel proudly served our country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his four children, Jason (Nicole) Woodside of Anthem, Ariz., Sommer Woodside of Barstow, Calif., Ashley (Matthew) Knox of Glen Carbon, Ill. and one step-daughter, Diana Johnson-Hamde of Germany; one sister, Debbie (James) Kirchhoefer of New Athens, Ill.; his grandchildren, Jackson, Jacob, Griffin and Charlotte Woodside and another grandchild, Ryan Knox due in August and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Daniel's wishes were to have his body donated to science, and a tree was planted in his memory.
