Eileen M. Sheehan
Eileen M. Sheehan, 95, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin.
Eileen had been a secretary at Consolidation Coal Company from 1969 until 1985. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1940. Eileen graduated from Pinckneyville High School in 1936 and from Brown Business College in 1937.
She was born July 15, 1918 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Sadie (Simon) McCrary.
She married Robert W. Sheehan on Sept. 5, 1937 at St. Louis, Mo. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1959.
She is survived by one son - Robert W. Sheehan Jr. of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - James Sheehan and wife Tammy of Christopher, David Sheehan and wife Angie of Du Quoin, Amy Sheehan of St. Louis, Mo. and John Sheehan and wife Patty of Herrin, eight great grandchildren - Ryan Sheehan and wife Nikki of Du Quoin, Megan Sheehan of O'Fallon, Margaret Sheehan of Midland, Tex., Andrew Sheehan of Du Quoin, Connor Sheehan of Du Quoin, Lauren Sheehan of Herrin, Jessica Sheehan of Herrin and Anna Rose Sheehan of Du Quoin, two great great grandchildren - Rowen Dearmond of O'Fallon and Trinity Wright of Du Quoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons - Charles Sheehan and Jack Sheehan, two brothers - Walter McCrary and William McCrary, one sister - Hazel Dennis and one daughter-in-law - Judith Sheehan Palmer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois, American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
