Dorothy L. Wesseln

Dorothy L. Wesseln, age 92, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 10:10 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Ill.

Dorothy was born on May 8, 1922 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a daughter to John and Louisa (Ernst) Epplin. On Jan. 11, 1944, she married John H. Wesseln in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., and he preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2008 after 64 years of marriage. Dorothy was a homemaker and member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. She enjoyed quilting, baking and cooking. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth L. (George) Niemann of Arnold, Mo.; two sons, Edward (Karla) Wesseln of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Donald Wesseln of Pinckneyville, Ill.; three grandchildren, John E. (Tabatha) Wesseln, Alexandra Wesseln and Frank Wesseln; and two great-grandchildren, Mackenna Wesseln and Dayton Wesseln.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Mike Epplin and Bernard Epplin; and two sisters, Mary T. Epplin and Aurelia Kellerman.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Bernard Goedde officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.
