Carolyn S. Wheatley

Carolyn S. Wheatley, 72, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Kindred Hospital at St. Anthony's in St. Louis, Mo.

Carolyn was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Assembly of God in Du Quoin.

She was born Jan. 20, 1942 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of Amos and Lois (Hawk) Bowlin.

She married Lester Lee Wheatley on Oct. 14, 1961 at Carbondale, Ill. and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2011.

She is survived by a son- Darrin Wheatley of Du Quoin, mother- Lois Bowlin of Du Quoin, granddaughter- Melissa Wheatley of Denver, Colo., sister- Marilyn Melvin of Du Quoin, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father, two brothers- Everette Bowlin and John Bowlin.

Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
