Floy I. Lindner

Floy I. Lindner, 89, of Florence, S.C., formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Southland Health Center in Florence, S.C.

Floy had been a homemaker. She had worked in the office at the Du Quoin Packing House and at P.R. Mallory. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was born Jan. 17, 1925 at Logan, Ill., the daughter of Opal and Ruie (Summers) Perryman.

She married John Carl Lindner on July 7, 1951 at the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church in Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2012.

She is survived by one son - John D. Lindner and wife Laura of Florence, S.C., two granddaughters - Julianne Lindner of Raleigh, N.C. and Emily Gressett and husband Matthew of Evanston, Ill., several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Those attending the graveside service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Jim Booker Memorial Scholarship Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
