Domenica Fiorino
Domenica "Mimi" Fiorino, nee Curcuru, 93, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Hospice of LaGrange, Ga. She was a lifelong resident of Du Quoin until she moved to LaGrange in 2001.
Mimi was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, LaGrange, Ga., and active in Legion of Mary. Prior to moving, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Du Quoin, Ill., and belonged to Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of Senior Citizens and enjoyed quilting. Mimi was a homemaker and well-known for her different varieties of homemade Italian Christmas Cookies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fiorino, whom she married on June 29, 1941 in St. Louis, Mo. He died on Jan. 25, 1996. Her parents, Dominic and Mattia "Martha," nee Indelicata, Curcuru from Italy; four sisters, Rose Marie Curcuru, Catherine Justice, Rosalie Furfaro and Dora Robinson and son-in-law, James H. Sutton also preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son and daughter, Angelo John (Janice) Fiorino of Murphysboro, Ill. and Martha "Rosie" Sutton of LaGrange, Ga.; five grandchildren, DeAnna Akers, Adam (Heather), Aaron (Reagan), Andrea and Alicia Fiorino; five great grandchildren, Lindsey Domenica Akers, Kevin, Kelsey, Nicholas and Elliana Fiorino; a brother and a sister, Dominic (Dorothy) Curcuru Sr. of Washington, Mo. and Mary Russo of Ferguson, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Angelo Furfaro of Collinsville, Ill.; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers are Adam Fiorino, Aaron Fiorino, Pat Furfaro, Sam Furfaro, Walter Myers, and Dominic Curcuru Jr.; Honorary pallbearer is Joe Russo.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill, with Fr. John Beveridge officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday April 22, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Du Quoin, Ill., with Fr. Gary Gummersheimer officiating.
