Ruby I. Brock

Ruby I. Brock, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Mulkeytown, Ill.

Ruby had worked for many years at Country Set. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin. Ruby was a good Christian woman and a very special person.

She was born Oct. 2, 1926 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of Raymond and Nellie (Stanley) Satterfield.

She married Robert L. Brock on June 5, 1945 at New Orleans, La. and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1993.

She is survived by two sons - Byron D. Brock and wife Joann and Gary L. Brock and wife Barbara, all of Du Quoin, one daughter - Linda L. Greenwood and husband Jim of Mulkeytown, Ill., one brother - Walter Satterfield of Merced, Calif., two sisters - Louise Galloway and Juanita Porter, both of Du Quoin, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers - Bob Satterfield and Gene Satterfield.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
