Janet Hale

Janet Hale, age 80, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 4:50 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Janet was born on May 1, 1933 in Swanwick, Ill., a daughter to Janto V. and Roberta (Cupples) Frassato. On June 21, 1952, she married Edgar Bryant Hale in Coulterville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2013. Janet was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, Ill., Home Extension and Swanwick Picnic Association. She enjoyed cooking, baking, working in her flower garden and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Greg (Liz) Hale of Pinckneyville, Ill.; daughter, Dawn (Mark) Smith of Pinckneyville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Kyle (Tiffany) Smith, Tyler (Emily) Smith, Taylor Smith, Bryant Hale and Garrick Hale; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Kolton Smith and Kaden Smith; brother, Bob Frassato of Pinckneyville, Ill.; and nieces and nephews, Linda Jones, Wilma Major, Alicia Mandolini, Tony Mandolini, Glenn Freeberg, Susan Kelly and Bobby Blake.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Wilabel Freeberg; niece, Ann Mandolini and sister-in-law, Patti Frassato

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, Ill.

Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Cemetery Association, Swanwick, Ill.
