Ruth C. Thomas

Ruth C. Thomas, 77, of Elkville, passed away at 11:45 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her residence.

Ruth was a clerk at Wal-Mart in Du Quoin for over 26 years. She was of the Lutheran faith.

She was born Nov. 19, 1935 at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of August and Ruth (Zuhn) Hansen.

She married Wilbur L. Thomas on May 29, 1963 at Concrete, Wash. and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Elkville, one son - Michael E. Thomas of Elkville, one granddaughter - Tabetha Dunihoo of Pinckneyville, two brothers - Wayne Hansen of Calumet City, Ill. and Darwin Hansen of Crystal Lake, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Per Mrs. Thomas' request, cremation services were held.

There will be no public visitation or funeral.

Burial will be at a later date in the Concord Cemetery at Rice, Ill.

Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
