Minnie E. Davis

Minnie E. Davis, age 100, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 in Pinckneyville Healthcare Center, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Minnie was born on June 5, 1912 in Equality, Ill., a daughter to Morgan and Jennie (Ginger) Patton. On May 2, 1931, she married Virgil J. Davis in Harrisburg, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1977.

Minnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., worked as a clerk for Hagler Furniture and Rhodes Burford Furniture, operated the Maid Rite in Pinckneyville, Ill. for 10 years and worked for Perry County Outreach transporting senior citizens to appointments. She was a giving person and volunteered her time to the Perry County Counseling Board for many years.

Survivors include her grandson, Jeffrey Scott Davis (Amy Schwartzkopf) of Pinckneyville, Ill. and several dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son and daughter-in-law: James Donald and Judy Davis; two sisters, Reita McDaniel and Anna Wood and four brothers, Finley Patton, Lonnie Patton, Curtis Patton and Bob Patton and two brothers in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, Ill.
