Muriel Owens

Muriel Owens, 82, of Sesser, Ill., passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Mrs. Owens was born February 20, 1930 in Sesser, Ill., a daughter to Aaron Harl and Ruth (Mezo) Harmon. She married James Junior Owens and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2000.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sesser, Ill.

Surviving are her children, Jerry and Glenda Chastain of Sesser, Ill. and Terry and Debra Chastain of Du Quoin, Ill.; step-children, Jimmy and Peggy Owens of McComb, Ill., Linda and Rick Bridges of Tamaroa, Ill., Kathy and Jim Kuberski of Mulkeytown, Ill., Patricia and Danny Webb of Sesser, Ill., Rocky Owens of Du Quoin, Ill. and Gary Nickens of Tamaroa, Ill.; brother, Gene Harmon of Sesser, Ill. Mrs. Owens is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Donna Chastain; three step sons, Randy Owens, Victor Owens, Rick Owens and one sister, Dorothy Harbison.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, Ill. with Rev. Chad Wilken officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, Ill.

There will be no visitation. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.
