Elizabeth M. Hagene
Elizabeth M. Hagene, age 95, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 at 3:40 p.m. at Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Elizabeth was born on Jan. 28, 1917 in Vergennes, Ill., a daughter to Albert F. and Rose Mary (Moschenross) Eisenhauer. On Jan. 25, 1940, she married Francis J. Hagene and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1979. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., Catholic Daughters and the Blue Army. She was a homemaker, had served as a 4-H Leader, loved quilting and was a member of the Stitch and Chatter Quilting Club. Elizabeth dearly loved her family and enjoyed helping to teach them to cook and sew. Just the site of a baby made her face light up.
Survivors include six sons, Gene (Sylvia) Hagene of Pinckneyville, Ill., Charles (Carol) Hagene of Pinckneyville, Ill., John (Kathy) Hagene of Mulkeytown, Ill., Kenneth Hagene of Pinckneyville, Ill., Eddie Joe (Barbara) Hagene of Pinckneyville, Ill., Roger (Kathy) Hagene of Pinckneyville, Ill.; three daughters, Rosemary (Kenneth) Novak of Ashley, Ill., Janet (Roger) Porter of Du Quoin, Ill. and Judy (George) Przygoda of Pinckneyville, Ill.; 32 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, James Hagene; six brothers, Frederick Eisenhauer, Joseph Eisenhauer, James Eisenhauer, Tony Eisenhauer, Albert "Pete" Eisenhauer and Leo Eisenhauer; an infant sister, Mary Eisenhauer; two grandsons, Matthew Przygoda and Joey Hagene and a great granddaughter, McKenzie Cheek.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic School or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
