Ann Mathis

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ann Mathis, nee Bischof, 92, of Belleville, Ill., born March 24, 1920, in Pinckneyville, Ill., died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Mrs. Mathis had worked as a medical technologist. She was a member of the American Society of Medical Technologists and the American Association of Blood Banks. A graduate of St. Louis University, she did post-graduate work in medical technology at the University of Alabama. Ann was a member of the American Association of University Women, Business and Professional Women, the Pinckneyville Women's Club and the Wednesday Club and she served as a volunteer at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse "Bud" and Marian, nee Kosmatka, Bischof and by her former husband, John A. Mathis, M.D.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Patrick B. (Rosanne) Mathis of Belleville, Ill., Timothy A. (Connie) Mathis, M.D. of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Theresa Ann (Mark) Eversgerd of Telford, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Daniel P. Mathis, Adrienne C. Mathis, Sarah H. (Daniel ) Valter, Mason W. Mathis, Marian E. (Nathan) Green, Emily Eversgerd and Benjamin Eversgerd; five great-grandchildren, Sebestyen W. Valter and Dominic, Caden, Silas and Sage Green; her brother, Richard (Mary Louise) Bischof of Zelwood, Fla. and three nephews, Richard, John Thomas and Michael Bischof, and their families.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Church with Father Clyde Grogan and Father Matthew Elie concelebrating.

Friends who are unable to attend the services at church are invited to attend the burial at 3:30 p.m. Monday at St. Bruno Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
