Clifford C. Rettell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Clifford C. Rettell, age 77, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away Friday evening, July 27, 2012, at Marshall Browning Hospital Emergency Room, Du Quoin, Ill.

Clifford was born Feb. 24, 1935 in Rantoul, Ill. the son of George Charles and Doris Gwendolyn (Roof) Rettell. Clifford was known to his friends as " Pappy or Sonny." He lived most of his life in the Kankakee and Bourbonnais, Ill. area. Clifford was united in marriage to Darlene E. LaMontange on Dec. 31, 1952 in Indiana and she survives. Clifford was a construction worker for over 35 years. He loved dancing, playing pool, country music and cooking. Spending time with friends and family was his passion. Fishing was among his favorite pastimes and living in a home on a lake was a dream that was fulfilled when he and his wife moved to Du Quoin, Ill. in 2006.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Darlene of Du Quoin, Ill.; three daughters, Deborah Rettell (Gene Gulley) of Bourbonnais, Ill., Cathy Lowe-Foiles of Kempton, Ill. and Sheila (Donald) Haggard of Du Quoin, Ill.; four grandsons, Timothy (Audrey) Lowe, Joshua Lowe, Aaron (Lacie) Haggard and Anthony Gulley; two granddaughters, Miranda Rettell and Afton (Nicholas) Haggard-Reynolds; six great grandchildren, Caitlynn, Timmy, Kalena, Axander, Zane, Caiden and one on the way and also his faithful dog, Candy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy L. Rettell; a brother, Arthur G. Rettell and a sister, Dorothy J. Crawford.

Memorial services will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Tuesday evening, July 31, 2012 at 5:30 pm.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm till 5:30 pm.

Clifford's wishes were to be cremated.
