Geraldine B. Erwin
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Geraldine B. "Boots" Erwin, age 100, of Aviston, Ill., formerly of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Aviston Countryside Manor, Aviston, Ill.
Boots was born on March 2, 1912 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a daughter to Fred J. and Josephine M. (Dintelman) Gossman. On Sept. 2, 1929, she married Hubert Lee Erwin in Benton, Ill. and he preceded her in death In January 1969. Boots was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, Ill. and worked for Decca Records for 18 years. She was a member of R.S.V.P., called numbers for bingo at Perry Manor for many years and won many plaques and awards from R.S.V.P. for her volunteer work. She lived her entire life in Pinckneyville, was well liked, outgoing and liked being called by her nickname "Boots." Boots was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and dearly loved spending time with her family.
Boots is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Dale) Kennedy of Trenton, Ill. and Jo Ellen "Jody" Weiskopf of Encino, Calif.; granddaughters, Kathleen E. Stone of San Diego, Calif. and Kate Weiskopf of Encino, Calif.; grandson, James E. Stone of Hillsboro, Ore. and great grandchildren, Dominick Stone and Makenna Stone of Hillsboro, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, William "Bud" Gossman, Fred Gossman, and Earl Gossman Jr.; two sisters, Vera Linze and Edna Rice and son-in-law, Kim Weiskopf.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
