Dimple M. King

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dimple M. King, 87 of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:16 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Fair View Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

She was born Nov. 8, 1924 at Mounds, Ill. the daughter of Simeon J. and Bonnie (Caywood) Harp. She was raised in Christopher, Ill.

Dimple was a homemaker and had worked as a seamstress at Bridal Originals for several years. She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Pinckneyville.

Dimple married Gerald L. King on March 6, 1954 at Du Quoin, Ill. and he passed away Feb. 7, 1985.

Dimple brought one child and Gerald brought four into the union and together they had three. They became a family of ten.

Survivors include- Geraldine Smith and husband Dick of Port Orange, Fla., Ronnie King of Phoenix, Ariz., Doris Walters of Springfield, Chuck King of Benton, Rick King and companion Vickie Holmes of Du Quoin, Steve King of Du Quoin, Gerald King and wife Jeana of West Frankfort, daughter-in-law- Pam Oliver of Du Quoin, two special grandchildren raised by Grandma- Lindsay King and Josh King of Du Quoin, two sisters- Darlene Drysdale of Fla., Mary Kate McMurphy and husband Bill of Fla., 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Michael Oliver, son-in-law- Ned Walters, daughter-in-law- Jeanette King, three brothers- Stanley Harp, Simeon J. Harp Jr. and Darrell Harp, two sisters- Bonnie Jean Watson and Natoma Hanson.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Paul Ritter officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the American Diabetes Association or TIP Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
