She was born to late Herman H. and Margaret D. (nee Weinrich) Welten on November 10, 1925 in Chester, Illinois.

Alice was married to William R. "Sleepy" McLaughlin on September 23, 1949 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on September 22, 1990.

She was a homemaker.

Alice was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, Illinois; L.W.M.L; Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; Friends of the Library and Randolph County Historical Society.

Survivors: 1 Son Brett A. (Donna) McLaughlin Baldwin, IL; 1 Daughter Cathy S. (Bob) Hagen Sullivan, IL; 3 Grandchildren

Preceded in death by: Parents, Husband - William "Sleepy" McLaughlin, 2 Sisters - Marie "Dolly" Kettelkamp and Margaret Fesser and 2 Brothers - John and Charles Welten

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2012 St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois

Officiating: Rev. Peter Ill

Visitation was held on Saturday from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL and Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, IL
