Violet Marie Clark
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Violet Marie Clark, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:12 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Violet had been a homemaker. She had been owner and operator of the Hub Motel with her husband from 1966 until 1981. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was born May 26, 1926 at Springerton, Hamilton County, Ill., the daughter of Arthur and Effie (Woodrow) Fuqua.
She married Sessel Clark Jr. on May 15, 1947 at Morganfield, Ky. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1978.
She is survived by one daughter - Vickie Harsy and husband Bernie of Du Quoin, one son - Milton La Verne Clark and wife Paula of Mapleton, Ill., one daughter-in-law - Kelly Clark of Oakgrove, Mo., one brother - Arson Fuqua of Oakdale, Ill., one half brother - Charles Ray Thompson of Oakdale, Ill., one half sister - Mary Lou Bube of Farmington, Ill., 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Mark Clark and four siblings - Hayward Fuqua, Curt Fuqua, Imogene Rankin and Betty Brammier.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Rich Luh officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Garrison Cemetery at Wayne City, Ill.
Friends may make memorials to the VNA Tip Hospice or Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life and will be accepted at the funeral home.
