Matthew Wayne Siefert
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Matthew Wayne Siefert, 36, of Du Quoin, went to be with the Lord at 6:19 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012 after a lengthy battle from complications due to juvenile diabetes.
Matt had worked as an assistant manager at Rent-A-Center in O'Fallon, Ill. He had also worked at Walgreens Distribution Center at Mt. Vernon, Ill. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin. He was a 1993 graduate of Du Quoin High School and had attended John A. Logan College and Rend Lake College.
He was born June 25, 1975 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Herschel Wayne and Eileen (Jahnke) Siefert.
He is survived by his parents of Du Quoin, two sisters - Kimberly Siefert of Louisville, Ky. and Stacey (Chris) Edward of Omaha, Neb., one nephew - Greyson Wayne Edward of Omaha, Neb., two nieces - Dagny Edward and Maebry Edward, both of Omaha, Neb., little dog Derby, who also cheered him when he wasn't feeling well, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents - Don and Susan Jahnke and paternal grandparents - Charles and Myrtle Siefert.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m.. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
