Pastor Mark Willig penned a good letter about Westboro last week, however, the headline gave them credibility by referring to them as a Baptist Church. A more appropriate name would be Westboro domestic terrorists. They are only trying to invite an assault so they can sue for riches. I predict someday soon a broke homeless veteran will wade into them with a baseball bat. What jury would convict him. I would be willing to bet these terrorists are wearing body armor. Or maybe not. They don't seem to be very smart.
I talked to Debbie, of the Randolph County Humane Society today. She confirmed that the Humane Society of the U.S. does not send even a penny to local shelters. I know a lot of you donate by putting dog and cat food into boxes in the local stores and that is appreciated, but they also need money for lights, heat and phone bills, etc. None of the cities they serve contribute. How about giving up one day of golf and send them what you would have spent on green fees. Or organize a golf tournament for their benefit. Or send whatever you can afford. I will.
Reading the Southern, I saw that Chester coach Bell was arrested for an alleged felony. Superintendent Keim is quoted as saying, "I would have appreciated it if the Sheriff's Department would have contacted me and could have done this outside the school day." I think it was a good civics lesson for the students who saw it. Do they still have a civics class in school? So to all law enforcement officers who might see me run a stop sign you will know where I live by running my license plate on your computer. I would appreciate if if you came to my house to serve your ticket so my fellow citizens will not know what a miscreat I am. Marines would be an exception to this kind treatment.
Sailors have more fun!
