A simple statement about one aspect of the Westboro Baptist Church & the Supreme Court ruling

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dear Editor:

If those who protest at military funerals really believe what they are saying, and if they have either common decency or the basic Christian concern for souls:

They would not protest the way they do but would instead be dressed in black, be kneeling in prayer for their nation and be saddened by death and the judgment they say is over our soldiers. Because they do not do this but rather have signs saying, "Thank God for 9/11" or ". . . for dead soldiers" and so on, and because they sing cheerful songs about the damnation of others; their testimony and public witness is exactly the opposite of what the Bible calls us to say. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to salvation. (See Ezekiel 18:23, 32; 33:11; and 1 Timothy 2:4)

For this reason we condemn what they say and do as a horrible twisting and mockery of our Christian faith.
