Lyle Dean Wheatley

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lyle Dean "Buck" Wheatley, 59, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:55 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 at the St. Mary&#39;s Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.

Lyle had worked as a forklift operator at General Cable for 41 years, since 1969. He was of the Protestant faith. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.

He was born June 16, 1951 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Dean Carlyle and Josephine (Kohout) Wheatley.

He married Deanna Lee Furlow on June 26, 1971 at Du Quoin, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one son - Bruce Allen Wheatley of Du Quoin, one sister - Jo Ann Moore and friend Charley Mozi of Du Quoin, one brother - Lester Wheatley and wife Carolyn of Du Quoin, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers - Robert, Donald, Richard, and Bernard and two nephews- Shane Wheatley and Dustin Furlow.

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. Kurt Jensen officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Mulkeytown Cemetery at Mulkeytown.

Friends may make memorials to the Five Star Industries and will be accepted at the funeral home.
