Kenneth Maurice Terry, Sr.
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kenneth Maurice Terry, Sr., 86, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 2:46 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at the Belleville Memorial Hospital at Belleville, Ill.
Kenneth had worked as a drill foreman at Consolidated Coal Company for 30 years. He had worked with a special uncle, Leo Ritter, who taught him the coal mining industry. He was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Kenneth was a member of UMW of A, Horseman's Benevolence and Protection Association and Illinois Horse Breeders Association. Kenneth had trained horses for many years.
He was born Jan. 28, 1924 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of Roy and Marcella (Ritter) Terry.
He married Dolores F. Williams on July 16, 1944 at Chester, Ill. and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years of Pinckneyville, two children - Janet Young and husband Michael of St. Louis, Mo. and Kenneth "Butch" Terry and wife Vickie of Pinckneyville, five grandchildren - Michael Young and wife Jill, Mark Young and Scott Young, all of St. Louis, Mo., Natalie Wellen of Pinckneyville and Stacey Terry of Fancy Farm, Ky., three great grandchildren - Elizabeth Young, Cole Wellen and Daniel Wellen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Robert Terry in World War II.
Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville with Rev. Rob Mathis officiating.
Those attending the service were asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Burial was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.
Friends may make memorials to the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
