Frances Helen Skorch
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Frances Helen Skorch, 94, of Scheller, passed away at 7:20 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at the St. Marys Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
Frances was a homemaker. She was an avid gardener, loved fishing and was a great cook. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois.
She was born Nov. 6, 1916 at Scheller, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Joan (Majewski) Walkowiak.
Frances married Michael M. Skorch on June 15, 1937 at Du Bois, Ill. and he preceded her in death June 7, 1993.
She is survived by a daughter- Joan Spotanski and husband Richard of Mt. Vernon, a son- David Skorch and wife Laura of Mt. Vernon, Ill., daughter-in-law- Carolyn Hiller of Tamaroa, eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild., nieces, nephews and many loyal neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Martin Skorch, three sisters, one brother and two sisters at an early age.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in DuBois with Fr. John Iffert officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. The Rosary was prayed at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois.
Friends may make memorials to the St. Charles Church Renovation Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
