</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wanda R. Salmons, 79, of Alton, Illinois, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:08 am, Friday, January 21, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital, Alton, Illinois.

She was born to Silas and Elizabeth (nee Tiller) Hamilton on November 24, 1931 in Chester, Illinois.

She had been an Elementary Teacher for 35 years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Alton, Illinois.

Survivors include 3 Children - Lisa Johnson Alton, IL; Charles (Mary Ann) Salmons Marietta, GA, Kathleen (Greg) Snyder Alton, IL; 1 Brother Oscar Hamilton Atlanta, GA; 4 Sisters Olga Hastings, Lancaster, CA, Norma Bush Las Vegas, NV, Barbara Meyer Lafayette, IN, Nedra Zagorski Rockford, IL; 5 Grandchildren Jessica and Jackie Johnson, Ethan, Jordan and Cally Graham; 2 Step Grandchildren Dustin and Lindsey Snyder; 2 Great Grandchildren - Andrew and Jaylon Dixon

Preceded in death by: Parents, 1 Brother -James Hamilton and 3 Sisters -Hazel Chandler, Betty Downen and Ola Downen

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois

Officiating: Dr. Mike Fogerson

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Illinois

Visitation will be held Saturday, 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois
