Perry Clinton Warren
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Perry Clinton Warren, 90, of Elkville, passed away at 1:55 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Perry had been a supervisor for FritoLay Company for several years. He was an agent for AAA Insurance.
He was Elk Township board member and Elk Township Tax Assessor. Perry was a member of the Elkville United Methodist Church, where he had been a past treasurer. He was secretary and treasurer of the ministerial alliance. He was a board member of the Rick Warren Library Board in Elkville. He was a member of the Elkville Crimestoppers and a member of the Murphysboro American Legion. Perry served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born March 17, 1920 at Carmi, Ill., the son of Bernard L. and Mildred (Weirauch) Warren.
Perry married Marie L. Clipson on May 24, 1944 at Kattering, England and she preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 2002.
He is survived by a brother- John Warren and wife Judy of Mt. Vernon, nieces- Jill Ann Shelby and husband James, Sue Beck and husband Dennis, Lisa Jacob and husband Greg, nephews- Jeffrey Warren and wife Laura, Bruce Fields and wife Pam, great nephews and nieces- Evan Warren, Kelly Fields, Michael Beck and wife Amy, Crystal Sutton and husband Craig, Kathryn Jacob, Lauren Jacob, Benjamin Jacob, several cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son- Richard C. Warren, sister- Alma Ruth Fields and brother-in-law - Robert Fields.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Jim Barnett and Rev. Angie Kaye officiating.
Friends may called from 9 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the White County Memorial Gardens at Carmi.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Carmi American Legion and VFW.
Friends may make memorials to the Rick Warren Library at Elkville and will be accepted at the funeral home.
