Steven Eugene Conner
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Steven Eugene Conner, 60, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at his residence.
Steven had worked at Decca Records in Pinckneyville. He was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church in Du Quoin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.
He was born April 7, 1950 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Harley E. and Betty (Henley) Conner.
He is survived by three sisters - Janet Cook of Benton, Judy Phillips and Kathy Plant, both of Du Quoin, six brothers - Jerry Conner of Mt. Vernon, Fred Conner of Raleigh, N.C., John Conner of Du Quoin, Jim Conner of Raleigh, N.C., Ed Conner of Du Quoin and Larry Conner of Raleigh, N.C., two aunts - Velma Terry and Lorene Jackson, five nephews and 11 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers - Harley E. Conner, Jr. and Jeffrey Conner and nephew - Jeffrey Conner.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.
Friends called from Noon until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.
Friends may make memorials to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
