</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Scott A. Long, age 46, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 in St. Louis, Mo.
Scott was born on Dec. 11, 1964 in Hammond, Ind., a son to Horace and Evelyn (Coley) Long. Scott worked as a correctional officer for 12 years at Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Ill. He was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, Ill. Scott enjoyed duck hunting and golfing. He was a loving and devoted dad. His greatest joy was spending time with his children whom he dearly loved.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Long and Brandon Long both of Pinckneyville, Ill.; their mother, Donna Long of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one brother, Ralph (Sandy) Long of Hobart, Ind.; one sister, Cindy (Tom) Gendron of Pinckneyville, Ill.; many dear nieces, nephews and friends and a special friend, Sheryl Deskin of Chesterfield, Mo.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends called at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorials may be given to Panther High School Baseball Team or American Heart Association.
