Edith Boerman
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edith Boerman, 94, of Du Quoin, formerly of Centralia, passed away at 2:45 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Edith was a homemaker. She retired as a seamstress at the Hines VA Hospital in Chicago. She attended the Second Baptist Church in Du Quoin.
She was born March 15, 1916 at Du Quoin, Ill. the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Jones) Vancil.
Edith married Arthur S. Taylor on Sept. 7, 1935 at Du Quoin, Ill. He passed away March 15, 1973. She then married Richard T. Boerman on May 24, 1975 at LaGrange, Ill. and he passed away on Oct. 14, 2006.
She is survived by a son- Donald L. Taylor and wife Gail of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Catherine Braughton and husband Webb of Monee, Ill., Debra Wadkins of Du Quoin, Richard Taylor of Nashville, Tenn., Michael Taylor of Percy, two step grandchildren- Lori Coker and husband James of Du Quoin and Michael W. George and wife Dana of Oakville, Mo., eight great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren, niece- Shirley Parkinson and husband Harold of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two brothers- Rev. Eugene Kaufman and Sylvester (Buster) Vancil.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Kent Eaton officiating.
Friends called from Noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Second Baptist Church of Du Quoin or to the donors choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
