John was born to the late Joseph and Helen (nee Syloski) Cheslick on May 24, 1924 in St. Louis, MO.
John married Jewell Cluster on June 26, 1946 at Chester, Illinois who survives.
John had worked at the International Shoe Company and Stratmann Lumber Company, Evansville, Illinois, Clemens Hillside Lumber Company, Chester and Lochhead Brothers Gas Station, Chester and retired from Chester Construction in Chester, Illinois
John was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois. H e was an Army veteran and Life Member of the V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester, Illinois.
John was a handyman and he could fix anything.

Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 6, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois
Officiating: Father Gene Wojcik
Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery Chester, Illinois
Visitation was held Sunday, 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Monday, 7:30 am - 10:45 am at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Hom in Chester, Illinois
