Charles Noal Genesio

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles Noal Genesio, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:25 a.m., Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Charles had been owner/operator of Genesio Heating and Air Conditioning since 1954. He was also a partner in Meridian Oil and Gas Inc. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of NRA, Illinois Rifle Association, Illinois Oil and Gas Association, Ducks Unlimited - Lifetime Sponsor, Du Quoin Rotary, and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. He was also a member of Refrigeration, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 653, Du Quoin Elks, Lifetime member of Du Quoin V.F.W., Lifetime member of Du Quoin American Legion, Lost Forty Club, and Campbell Pond Hunting Club. He had also served on the Marshall Browning Hospital Board for twenty-seven years.

He was born Jan. 26, 1930 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Dempsey N. and Irene (Smith) Genesio.

He married Ann Cook on Oct. 25, 1953 at Salem, Ill. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one daughter - Lynn Britton and husband Duncan of Du Quoin, one son - Charles N. Genesio II and wife Heather of Du Quoin, five grandchildren - Emily Hunsaker and husband Chris of Carterville, Carrie Nell Britton of Du Quoin, Blaine Andrew Britton of Du Quoin, Kelly Elisabeth Genesio of Du Quoin and Charles N. Genesio III of Du Quoin, three sisters - Marian Emling and husband Robert of Du Quoin, Virginia Doolin and husband Gerald of Du Quoin and Neoma Beegie Kimmel of Plant City, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter - Elizabeth Irene Britton.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Jerry Dunn officiating.

Friends called from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.

Friends may make memorials to the Marshall Browning Hospital Capital Improvement Fund, Ducks Unlimited, or donor&#39;s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
