Mauna Loa Bailey

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mauna Loa Bailey, age 78, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care Center, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Mauna Loa was born on March 30, 1932 in Carbondale, Ill., a daughter to Charles Kenneth and Annie "Loa" (Batson) Runion. In 1951, she married Donald Thomas Bailey in Energy, Ill. and he preceded her in death in August of 1999. She had worked as a billing and insurance clerk at Pinckneyville Community Hospital and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, music, watching baseball, was an avid Cardinal fan and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Loa Batson Runion of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two sons, Mike (Tina) Bailey of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Steve (Diane) Bailey of Tamaroa, Ill.; two daughters, Mary (Jerry) Tritschler of Du Quoin, Ill. and Chris (Jeff) Bergfeld of Shelbyville, Ky.; six grandchildren, Jason (Connie) Tritschler, Colin (Niki) Tritschler, Dustin Tritschler, Michelle (Jeff) Miller, Tori Bailey and Juli (T.J.) Williams and 14 great-grandchildren, Tristin and Taylor Tritschler, Wyatt and Emilie Tritschler, Chase Tritschler, Tyler Wall, Taucha Scott, Alyssa, Brendan, and Connor Miller, and Amanda, Amber, Ginny and Trace Williams.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Donald Bailey; a brother, J.R. Runion; and a great-granddaughter, Sidnee Stephens.

Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
