Raymond Junior Clampet

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Raymond Junior Clampet, 78, of Scheller, passed away at 4:55 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.

Raymond had been a heavy equipment operator for the Operating Engineers and had worked at Phelps Dodge Cable Company in Du Quoin. He was a Baptist.

Raymond was born Oct. 6, 1931 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Raymond and Lela (Taylor) Clampet.

He is survived by two daughters- Linda Lipe and husband Gary of Woodridge, Ill. and Leslie Thompson and husband Olan of Du Quoin, son- Raymond James Clampet of Lawrenceville, brother- Richard Clampet of Swanwick, two sisters- Emma Schubert and Nina Goldman, both of Tamaroa, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and another great grandchild due in a few days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson- Heath Thompson, two sisters- Maxine Rolfs and Madge Keller, and brother- Lloyd Clampet.

Graveside services were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Bro. Mark Wells officiating.

Those attending the services were asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

The Searby Funeral Home of Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.
