Mabel Marie Morgenthaler
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mabel Marie Morgenthaler, 90, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:35 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Marie was a homemaker. She had been a seamstress and enjoyed making dresses. Marie also upholstered, quilted, did crafts and ceramics. She had also been a housekeeper for the Hayes family. She was of the Protestant faith. She was a member of the Du Quoin Senior Citizens and Quilting Clubs.
She was born September 17, 1920 at Franklin County, IL, the daughter of Harvey and Elsie (Bryant) McGuire.
She married Clyde F. Morgenthaler on Aug. 25, 1940 at Perryville, Mo. and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2009.
She is survived by one son - Clyde Dean Morgenthaler and wife Linda of Tamaroa, one daughter - Barb Yeager and husband Ray of Pinckneyville, three grandchildren - Debbie McClure and husband David of North Augusta, S.C., Paula Jean Yeager and Rick Yeager and wife Jennifer, all of Pinckneyville, three great grandchildren - Christina McClure, Matthew McClure, and Hannah McClure, all of North Augusta, S.C., and one sister - Helen King of Du Quoin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister - Dorothy Smith, and her daughter-in-law - Mary Alice Morgenthaler, who was a very loving and devoted caregiver.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Collin Hirsch officiating.
Friends may called from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Parkinson Disease Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
