Cyril James Miller

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cyril James "Bud" Miller, 85, of Du Quoin, formerly of Pinckneyville, passed away at 2:47 a.m., Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at the Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Bud was a retired grain and livestock farmer. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin. He was a U.S. Army/Airforce veteran of World War II. He was a lifemember of the Du Quoin American Legion and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Du Quoin. He had served on the Parish Council and as an Eucharist Minister at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bud had served on the Perry County Extension Office Executive Council and on the Board for ASC. He had also served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman for many years.

He was born Aug. 3, 1925 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of Joseph John and Mary Magdaline (Epplin) Miller.

He married Irene Anne Rudloff on June 25, 1947 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, three daughters - Cyrilla Prusacki, Rita Harsy and husband Jerry, all of Du Quoin and Alicia Miller of Pinckneyville and five grandchildren - Renee Prusacki of Chicago, Dana Prusacki of Belleville, Marc Prusacki, Rachel Harsy and Joshua Harsy, all of Du Quoin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings - Antonilla Bolinski, Joseph Miller, Loretta Miller, Rosamond Leiner, Carl Miller, one brother in infancy, one sister in infancy, and son-in-law - Randall Prusacki.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday.

Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites were be conducted by the Du Quoin American Legion and V.F.W.

Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart Cemetery or TIP Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
