Veda H. Nederbrock

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Veda H. Nederbrock, 88, of Rock Island, Ill., died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010.

Funeral services were held Sept. 17 at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Rock Island. Interment was at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

Veda was born July 16, 1922 in Centralia, Ill., the daughter of Harry and Mary Hofstetter. She married Roy C. Nederbrock of Pinckneyville on Jan. 14, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1998.

Veda was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Rock Island, the Ladies Faith Circle and the 8 and 40 Club, American Legion Post 569 Auxiliary and VFW Post 1303 Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia VanDyke and Dawn Matthews; four sons, Roy Jr., Harry, Robert and Danny Joe and their spouses; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Mary Lou Morris of Du Quoin, Aleda Brown of Du Quoin and Beverly Hunter of Highland Park and a brother, Wayne Hofstetter of Highland.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lynell Dunavan and Jean Besant; brothers, Billy Hofstetter and Harold Hofstetter and a granddaughter, Brandi Morrow.
