Violet A. Davison

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Violet A. Davison, 98, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:15 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.

Violet was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and a member of the Altar Society and Sewing Circle of the church.

She was born Sept. 19, 1911 at Elkville, Ill. the daughter of John and Myrtle (Darnell) Mezo.

Violet married Joseph William Davison, Sr. in 1930 at Benton, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1962.

She is survived by two sons- Joseph Davison and wife Sybil of Christopher, Roger Davison and wife Betty of Du Quoin, daughter- Sharon Brower and husband Dick of Springfield, 16 granddchildren- Gregory, Timothy, Jodie, Mary Margaret, Matthew, Daniel, Edward, Suzanne, Lisa, Michgile, Dedrae, Shannon, Heather, Shawna, Sherry and Scott, 24 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Frederick Davison, three brothers, three sisters and grandson Stephen.

Mass of Christian Burial was at Noon, Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.

Friends called from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the Sacred Heart Church on Monday.

Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

The Searby Funeral Home of Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
