Doris M. Leake

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Doris M. Leake, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:47 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Doris was a homemaker. She was a member of the Elkville Baptist Church.

She was born May 11, 1929 at Hallidayboro, Ill. the daughter of Charles Gilbert and Alta (Cox) Martin.

Doris married Robert E. Leake on Sept. 3, 1949 at Chicago, Ill. and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, daughter- Cheryl Lovejoy of Gurnee, Ill., two sons- Robert Leake, Jr. and wife Karen of Woodstock, Ill. and Timothy Leake and wife Jill of Du Quoin, sister- Lela Mae Shaw of Elkville, brother- Delmar Martin of Elkville, seven grandchildren- Kellie Leake, Robbie Leake, Megan Leake, Kristen Baker and husband William, Ryan Lovejoy, Shelby Leake and Carter Leake, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at the Elkville Cemetery with Rev. Daryl Williams officiating.

Those attending the services were asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial was in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville.

The Searby Funeral Home of Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.

Friends may make memorials to the Elkville Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
