William Harold Atcheson
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. William Harold Atcheson died in Bradenton, Florida.
Bill was born July 12, 1923 in Toronto, Canada, the third son of Harld Atcheson and Mary Robinson. He came to the United States in the 1930's and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was married to Eileen Mitton, who passed in 1963. He later married Mildred Mills, who died in 2001.
Bill raised the family in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, where he participated in many community activities. In 1962, the family moved to Bethesda, Maryland. He was in sales management in several locations including Illinois, Kansas, California and Michigan. He retired to Du Quoin, Ill. in 1986 as president of an American-Japanese joint venture company. After Millie passed, he moved to Bradenton, Fla. where he and Millie had vacationed for many years. Bill was very grateful for the love and understanding of the many people who touched his life. His sons are particularly grateful for the sense of values he exemplified for them.
He is survived by his younger brother, George; three sons, James Donald of Markleeville, Calif., Gordon of Seoul, Korea and John of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A private family service commemorating his life's journey will be held in Du Quoin, where his ashes will be interred.
In lieu of flowers, Bill's wish was that contributions be made to Mote Marine Laboratory, http://mote.org., where he enjoyed volunteering.
