Lois Neil Miller
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lois Neil Miller, age 89, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:32 a.m. at Illinois Veterans' Home, Anna, Ill.
Lois was born on Jan. 12, 1921 in Zela, W.V., a daughter to Newman Alexander and Viola (McCutcheon) Neil. She was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II as a Pharmacists Mate Third Class. On Sept. 8, 1945, she married Robert W. Miller in Pittsburg, Pa. and he preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2007. She was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ, Du Quoin, Ill., the Women's Guild of U. C. C. and Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, helping people and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children, Karen "Neil" (Barry) Myers of Stephens City, Va., Paul (Carlene) Miller of Goreville, Ill., Jane M. Shelton of Du Quoin, Ill. and Mark A. (Dee) Miller of Tamaroa, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, Elena, Corey, Seth, Isaac, Zachary, Shannon, Neil, Nicholas, Samantha, Angie, Benjamin, John and Molly and 18 great-grandchildren, Ellie, Addie, Ella, Carlee, Sophie, Carter, Chance, Jaydon, Logann, Noah, Gabrielle, Pierson, Hayleigh, Draeden, Madison, Annie, Lainey and Blake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services were held at St. John United Church of Christ, Du Quoin, Ill. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Rich Luh officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill. Graveside military rites were accorded by Du Quoin American Legion and V.F.W.
Friends called at St. John United Church of Christ on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
