Blanche Ester Vasquez, 97

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Blanche Ester Vasquez, 97, of Chester, IL, died July 7, 2010, at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester.

The daughter of Michael and Wilhelmina (Gorzney) Surman, she was born August 14, 1912 in Pinckneyville, IL.

On February 19, 1946, she married Daniel S. Vasquez in Chester, and he preceded her in death in 2001.

Blanche was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, canning, and going to yard sales with Shirley Parks. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Chester; St. Mary CCW; and the Randolph County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include one son, Mike (Janet) Vasquez of Chester; three grandchildren-Trevar (Susan) Vasquez, Trent (Angie) Vasquez, and Trisha (Pete) Jany, all of Chester; eight great grandchildren-Alyse, Mallary, Brock, Lauryn & Paige Vasquez, Koby, Kolton & Kanon Jany. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Simon; and two sisters-Helen and Florence Surman.

A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, July 10, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester with Rev. Eugene Wojcik officiating. Burial was in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chester.

Memorials may be given to the St. Mary Catholic School Cafeteria Fund.
