Kenneth Presswood
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kenneth "Kenny" Presswood, age 89, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 8:15 a.m. in Fairview Nursing Center, Du Quoin, Ill.
Kenny was born on Nov. 10, 1920 in Du Quoin, Ill., a son to Arthur and Sarah (Hart) Presswood. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. On Nov. 28, 1943, he married Betty Jolley in Perryville, Mo. and she preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1993. He had worked as a coal miner for United Electric for just over 40 years. In his lifetime, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Du Quoin, Ill., the American Legion, Acorn Acres Hunting Club, was a wonderful artist in many aspects of drawing, painting and woodworking and loved hunting, fishing and just being in the outdoors.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Sylvia) Presswood of Pomona, Ill. and Kevin (Frances) Presswood of Du Quoin, Ill.; a sister, Marjorie Isaacs of Boulder, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Kendra Presswood, Damon Presswood, Ashley Presswood, Madison Presswood, Severin Presswood, Abigail Presswood and Zackary Hale; two great-grandchildren, Josiline and Jessi; a special friend, Bruna Scarber and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a grandson, Garth Presswood; and two brothers, Clyde Presswood and Everette Presswood.
Funeral services were held in Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Steve Bareis officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.
Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, Ill. on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
