Mildred Jeanette Swain

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mildred Jeanette Swain, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:30 a.m., Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

She was born on March 28, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Edwin and Velma Harriss of Du Quoin both of whom preceded her in death. She married Cecil C. Swain on Nov. 19, 1944 who preceded her in death on March 7, 2004. David Myron Ruzicka, son-in-law also preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2005.

Survivors include two children Ron and Theresa Swain of Elko, Nevada and Dana Jo Ruzicka of Elsah, Illinois; Grandchildren include Jeremy Swain and Stephanie Waller of Tamaroa, Illinois, Dustin and Maegan Swain of Lincoln, California, Hailey MacCrae Heape of Elsah, Illinois, David Loren Heape of Elsah, Illinois and Devin Nathaniel Heape and Katie Heape of Elsah, Illinois. Great-grandchildren include Hayden Swain, Bryan Bowker, Javen Loren Heape, Matthew Szatkowski, Mason Swain and Kayden Sue Heape.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin, Illinois, 50 year-lifetime member of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge, Red Hat Ladies Club and the Du Quoin Study Club. She resided at 7932 Green Meadows Road, Du Quoin, Illinois.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Jim Endsley officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.

Eastern Star services were at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life and will be accepted at the funeral home.
