Carl H. Hampleman
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Carl H. Hampleman, 95, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:32 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Carl had been a diesel mechanic for Fidelity Coal Company for 43 and a half years. He had also been a farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and had served as a deacon. Carl had been a Sunday School Teacher for several years for the adult men in the Anglers Sunday School Class.
He was born Oct. 30, 1914 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Arthur and Idra (Hitt) Hampleman.
He married Vinedia Summers on April 12, 1936 at Du Quoin and she preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 1998. He then married Jennie (Provenzano) Moore on May 12, 2000 at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one son - Leroy H. Hampleman and wife Judy of Georgetown, Tex.; three grandchildren - Vance Hampleman and wife Beth of Overland Park, Kans., Jana Whitaker and husband Mark of Temple, Tex. and Jonelle Tucker and husband Britt of Ankra, Turkey' seven great grandchildren - Nathan Hampleman, Jane Hampleman, Emma Whitaker, Grace Whitaker, Ellie Whitaker, Daniel Tucker and Audrey Tucker; one brother - Claude Hampleman of Sesser; nieces; nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, two brothers - Glenn Hampleman and Russell Hampleman, and one sister - Irene Hampleman.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Steve Bareis officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Sunday.
Burial was in the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa.
