Software was purchased for both the elementary and high schools, using stimulus funds (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) to monitor student achievement.

Elementary School Principal Larry Lovel reported the software will allow the tracking and proficiency of students in mathematics. Students in grades five through eight will take computer based tests throughout the year which will track their progress with immediate results. Teachers will be able to focus on areas of need or provide enrichment activities for advanced students.

Lovel noted that results for the Illinois Standards Achievement Test are in. The school as a whole meets or exceeds state expectations. This is the seventh consecutive year the school has met or exceeded expectations. However, the fifth and sixth grades are below expectations in reading and the fifth grade is also below expectations in math.

The board is requesting proposals for an auditor for 2010-2011. The deadline for submissions will be July 10.

Invoices will be paid in July.
