Virginia Ellen Schneider

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Virginia Ellen Schneider, age 91, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10:55 a.m. in Fairview Nursing Center, Du Quoin, Ill.

Virginia was born Oct. 6, 1918 in Perry County, Ill., a daughter to Thomas and Eva (Hepp) Owens. On April 23, 1943, she married Thomas E. Schneider in Camp Swift, Tex. and he preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1972. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Du Quoin, Ill., Catholic Daughters and Perry County Gold Plate. Virginia was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting and dearly loved caring for her family.

Survivors include her two children, Roger D. (Jenny) Schneider of Du Quoin, Ill. and Constance Walk of Neoga, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Jay Kimball, Thomas Kimball, Lee Furry, Michael Schneider, Rick Schneider, Logan Schneider and Shannon Pursell; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Thomas R. Schneider; and two sisters, Annabelle Eisenhauer and Golda Self.

Funeral services were held Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Du Quoin, Ill. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Father James Van Oss officiating. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends called at Sacred Heart Church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
