Doris Jean Lynch
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Doris Jean Lynch, 77, of Dowell, passed away at 9:31 a.m., Thursday, June 10, 2010 from an auto accident on Highway 51, half a mile North of DeSoto.
Doris had worked as a secretary at Carbondale High School for several years. She was a member of the Elkville United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Birthday Club.
She was born Jan. 14, 1933 at Elkville, Ill., the daughter of Cecil Raymond and Paulina (Fithen) Brown.
She married James Lecile Raymer and he preceded her in death. She then married Lewis A. Lynch on Jan. 5, 1978 at the Methodist Church in Carbondale and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Dowell, nieces and nephews - John and Donna Brown of Hoopeston, Tom and Vickie Brown of Zeigler, Marian and Jesus Rosado of Elkville, Susan Johnson of North Carolina, Sandy Hines of Maryland, David and Debbie Lewis of Florida, Linda Brown of Du Quoin and Charles Ray Brown of Arkansas, several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, two brothers - Cecil William Brown and Richard Charles "Dick" Brown, sister - Marian Paulina Lewis and infant sister - Sharon Elaine Brown.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Angie K. Kaye officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville.
Friends may make memorials to the Elkville United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
