</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty M. Phegley, 80, of Highland, IL, died June 7, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

The daughter of Julius R. and Lorene N. (Raeber) Kaufmann, she was born June 30, 1929 in Highland, IL.

On May 12, 1984, she married Alden C. "Buddy" Phegley at St. Paul Catholic Church, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Betty was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL, and Business Professional Women of Highland. She was employed at the Illinois Correctional Center in Chester, IL before moving back to Highland in 1975 and becoming officer manager and bookkeeper for Dr. William Drake. She retired in 1999 and loved being with her family, playing her piano, attending dances, and fishing with her husband and son.

Survivors include her son, Terrance R. Moore of Highland, IL; daughter, Debra L. (Michael) McGinn of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren-Andrew M. McGinn of Charlotte, NC, Elizabeth E. (Paul) Czar of Blacksburg, VA, and Christopher J. McGinn of Jackson, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Alena T. Czar and Michael A. Czar, both of Blacksburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Buddy" Phegley; and former husband, David L. Moore.
