Mathilda M. Wittenborn, 88

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mathilda M. Wittenborn, 88, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Chester, IL, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, IL.

The daughter of Ernst and Louisa (Knoll) Moeckel, she was born November 23, 1921, in Chester, IL.

On February 8, 1941, she married Lawrence Wittenborn, and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Mrs. Wittenborn retired from Gilster-Mary Lee Corporation in Chester, IL, and she, along with her husband, owned and managed rental properties in Chester. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.

Survivors include two daughters-June Kamm of Dupo, IL, and Linda (James) Moeller of Belleville, IL; and two grandchildren, Jamalyn Moeller and Evan Moeller. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence Wittenborn; her parents; and a son-in-law, Richard Kamm.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, IL, with the Rev. Gary Byers officiating. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Chester,
